C43 sedan tire size advice

Hi Forum Members,

Looking for help with tire size fitment on my C43.

My stock tires aren't due to be changed, but I hate the way the P-Zero runflats ride. They are 225/40/19 & 255/35/19.

I wanted to put my 19 inch mags from my CLS 550 with the non-runflat P-Zeros with the 255/35/19 & 285/30/19 sizes, but the fronts were right up onto the suspension arm. It's too bad as they looked really good on my C400 and I checked, the tire diameters were spot on.

That being said, I was thinking of putting the non-runflat tires with the wider sizes on the C43 19inch mags.

Has anyone tried doing this? Can the stock front mag accommodate the wider tire without it rubbing on the suspension arm?

Appreciate the help!

Thanks!

You should not be mounting wider tires than come stock on the stock wheels. They already max out the tire size recommended for the width of the wheel (225 on 7.5 and 255 on 8.5).

You'd be better off mounting a different set of tires on the 550 wheels and using spacers where needed.

But it sounds more like you want a different look using the same equipment you already have on hand.

Pretty much... the 255 & 285 P-Zeros are practically new... that's why I was hoping some of the MB Forum members might have done the wider tires so I could just swap with what I have.
The 19 inch non-run flats rode way better than the 18 inch run flats on the C400.
