Can your customers advise what is the best launching technique for the 2019 models, I gather that they don’t launch like the previous models which is apparently letting go of the brake as the rpms climb toward a target rpm.

We support customers across a wide range of social network platforms. Some via email, some on n54tech, some on this forum, etc. I'd encourage anyone to share whatever they want on the platform of their choice!

Map5 that run. The BCM allows us to dial in more wastegate dutycycle directly. With this 2019 he was making around 2psi less down low off the line hurting his times. Something appears different on the launches of the 2019s. The BCM allowed us to get his boost back up down there. Of course, we could crank boost higher with more aggressive BCM settings. Working with customer on that now.
Also next firmware version I plan to redo the map numbering, so map8 is the VALET map, and maps 3 and 4 are performance maps between map2 and 5.

And.... don't forget the owners that don't have the AFR readings, read/delete CEL function, etc. on our JB4's in your next fw update!!! Please!!!!

So what does a good, or desired, boost curve look like on our cars? I have noticed most starts high then sharply slopes down. (Both ECU tuned and JB4 map6 cars.) . Is it our ECU in protective mode? But I have seen a couple of custom ECU tuned guys that holds boost (20+psi) to the redline. Mine doesn't do that. I thought the BCM was the answer......

Can you send me a log? From the data I have seen all those parameters are working. Terry can correct me if I'm wrong.

Boost taper is normal for stock turbos. There is a limit to how much power you can extract until you're way out of compressor efficiency range and blowing really hot air. Don't forget the added wear for running turbos that hard.

You also talked about absolute maps with the BCM before. What does that really mean for our cars with stock turbos? Looks like we are already maxing out the stock turbos' efficiency w/o the BCM no?
As for the missing parameters, Terry already knows the issue and confirmed it's a known issue on some C43's. I had many email exchanges with him already. He said he can only fix it if you can get a car there locally. Just want to follow up on this as the communication was a year ago.... no one with the same problem show up at your door steps?

The BCM allows the JB4 to directly adjust the wastegate dutycycle. In some situations (like 2019 models, or those with larger turbos) it can be quite useful. In other sitautions where the factory WGDC table is high enough to allow the JB4 mapping to hit its boost target it might not be. For now it's just an add on floating out there for those situations where we think it might be beneficial.

Pretty good results in any C43 owners books I would have thought, face-lift or otherwise? If not, get a C63 or something and stop whining for gods sake, it's getting very boring!!!
I have posted on another MBW thread the details but in essence as stated above, I am working closely with the guys at BMS . I am happy:-)

It is my UK 19 43 the BMS guys are referring to above and have recently posted on the Dragy leader board a 3.74 sec 0-60mph as well as a thus far 1/4 mile best of 11.91@115.70mph

And when you take off the JB4 for your next service, try to record some stock numbers. Would be very interesting to see the actual improvements.

Anyway, after an evening of more fiddling with the bells and whistles, managed to get some reduced times yesterday but unfortunately the 'Dragy Police' rendered them invalid...lol!
Ok, so they are not 'official' as such but at the very least, it's an indication things are heading in the right direction.
Same can't be said for my brake pads and disks though...lol!

Yes I will indeed sir:-) To get a true stock picture recorded, I will also re-fit the OEM intakes (doesn't take long at all).

Accelerated towards the verge at circa 70mph but we 'clipped', hence the side damage. I ended up on my side in a ditch cocooned by a zillion airbags and covered in talcum powder! To cap it all, the bloody car started talking to me..............yep, it automatically phoned the emergency services and a gentleman's voice was booming out of the speakers asking if I was ok and what service I required.......I think I said a large vodka and tonic!
Thankfully, despite the visual scene, which to the uninitiated looked like hell with wheels laying in the road, my car on its side inn a ditch and the Mini had pretty much disintegrated and had come to rest in the middle of the road some 100metres from where it 'bounced' off me, nobody was seriously hurt. I didn't have a scratch but the other driver's airbag had broken her nose.
What a car these Merc's are that we drive.......incredible really. Wouldn't have been the case though not so many years ago, I am for one, very grateful for all the safety features that are built into such cars.

Hey Munis, where did you plug in the green wire for fuel sensor? In the instructions it doesn’t say where ? Thanks
I personally experience very little to no throttle closure ever since I started using the green wire for fuel sensor and set FOL to 50, I have noticed a significant gain in butt dyno with less throttle closure during shifts. Also the way the car seems to be shifting through the gears, feels way smoother to me. My dragy was dead when I went testing, so I couldn’t confirm actual numbers it but I will do it soon. Here are the logs:

Been getting a lot of positive feedback on our 2019 tuning via email. Any more customers floating around here who need assistance?

I have on order a 2020 c43 sedan. Should be getting it in a month or so. Any differences with 2020 from 2019? I havent read anything different engine wise. Also i know there has been a lot of debate on the 2019s and not getting the same performance. Has this been worked out? And if so what eas the cause?

BCM remains optional but should you want to make more boost than you can without, it's there for you as an inexpensive and easy to add option. The same firmware is used for all models.
#175
Okay to be CLEAR. I want the vehicle to perform just as good or better than the pre-facelift models. I understand that its optional technically, however from reading through all the past discussions about the 2019+ models it seems the only way to accomplish this is with the BCM. Is that a correct statement?
