Seats AMG Perf vs Standard

Current have a C450 with the AMG performance seats. Going to order a 2020 C43, but was thinking about getting the standard seats in leather. Does anyone know if these are the same seats from the standard C300 (I sat in one and did not like), or if they are sportier (more bolster support).

Here’s a direct visual comparison between my ‘18 C43’s leather seats (top) and a ‘19 C300 Sport loaner (bottom).

Thanks for sharing. They do look a bit different, how do they feel to you? Unfortunately none of the dealers near me have a new C43 sedan in stock, only coupes, and they believe the coupes have sportier seats.

My pleasure! After having the loaner for a month while my car was in the shop, I did notice a difference once I got my car back. The C43's seats felt a bit more snug, particularly with respect to the rib bolstering. The thigh bolsters on the C43 felt a bit taller, as well.

There are definitely aesthetic differences; the C43's leather seats have lots of nice detailing, including a section of DINAMICA on the thigh bolsters. Coming from my W204 C63 sedan, which probably had some of the most aggressively bolstered seats Merc have ever put in production road car, I find the C43's "standard" seats adequate from a support standpoint, but excellent from a comfort standpoint.

The seating position with the standard seats is outstanding, as well. I was able to find a perfect driving position in minutes on day one of owning the car. I'm looking at getting a '19 or '20 at the moment, and I'll be getting the "standard" seats again.

Looks like the C43 standard seats are different from the C63 standard seats, but for what it's worth I didn't like the standard seats in the C63. Just not enough lateral support and the side bolster are not adjustable for a more snug fit when desired. Just so you know, the performance seats can now be had heated and ventilated and they seem a little wider to me with fully deflated side bolsters than before, but maybe I'm just imagining it. I find them super comfortable, though.

Get the performance seats in the designo white / black package. See my pics in the C43 pic thread. Aside from the PO - this is by far my favorite option on this car and makes a huge difference

The standard seats are not as aggressive in terms of the bolstering. It's in the rib bolstering that you notice the biggest difference, especially with a guy like me that's sub-170 lbs.

That said, I just found the standard seats noticeably more comfortable in terms of the seat cushioning. You're not constantly raking the bolsters when getting in and out of the car, either.

All comes down to personal preference. The performance seats do look amazing, that's for sure.
