Service notifications
I'm wondering if anyone knows how the car determines oil service notifications
Will our C43 notify us via the trip computer if engine oil is too low?
After I reset my service counter, does the car simply determine the next oil service using miles counter and dates counter or does it actually take the oil condition into account?

You can check when the next service is due in Assyst Plus, but if Oil drops below the needed level, the car will send you a message on the instrument cluster automatically. Watch this video that breaks down the instrument cluster:

Low oil warning is different from service notification. There's an oil level sensor that warns if the oil level is too low. That doesn't mean the car is due for service. There's a time and mileage interval. Service is due at 12 months the latest no matter how much you drive. This is because oil brakes down over time even if you don't drive the car. On top of that comes mileage. Every 10,000 miles service is due, so whichever comes first. I believe it's simply based on mileage and time. In the past, some cars monitored the amount of fuel burned the idea being if the car was driving hard it burned more fuel and so service notification was given earlier, but now it's pretty much just mileage and time driven.
