Parking Break Inoperative

Has anyone on here had the message Parking Break Inoperative pop up after putting the car in park? I drive a 2016 C450 with 27,000 miles. This is the third time I’ve had this happen in the last week, interested to see if anyone else has had this problem and if they had any solution to fix the issue?

Looks like one of the parking brake motors needs replacement.

Are you still under warranty? I’d take it to the dealer if so..

well that’s not good, have you had that problem before? New parking break motor at 27,000 miles sounds like a defective part to me.

I have extended warranty I’ll probably take it in next week or if it happens again.

Did you washed your car night before the message came on?

I never got the message before but my parking brakes froze around +/-0C when I washed my car night before. The next day I put the car in drive and car wouldn't move. Figured I sprayed too much water on the rear rotors and it either froze or rusted over night. Little gas helped unfreeze the car and drove away.

Unfortunately, I just washed the car again and will see if car moves freely tommorow morning or not.

No didn’t wash the car the night before it actually happened when i got home from picking up breakfast. I pulled in to the drive way put it in park and turned the car off. Then it chimed and the light came on.
