map updates on 2017 C43

map updates on 2017 C43
I have the 2016/2017 V8 maps on my 2017 C43. Some significant newer roads are missing, would really like to get this updated.
On my build sheet is says "502 Free map data updates for 3 years"
However I went into my MB dealer today and was told it could not be done for free. They wanted $199+tax for the update which seems reasonable compared to other posts here.
I have a in service date of 5/2017 so I should be within 3 years. Has anybody else looked into this?

Go try different dealer and push for it before it expires in May.

Well I sent an email to "mercedes_benz@mailca.custhelp.com" explaining the situation, they replied quickly to confirm my VIN is entitled to map updates until May. They are going to contact my SA and SM and try to clear it up.

I've updated my 2 AMGs and a friend's SL via https://www.mbnavupdate.com/. It appears that these are legitimate updates with the key being purchased through a dealer. The process was clear and easy.
While my dealer was nice enough to offer me a similarly priced update for my AMGs, the timing and convenience of the "do it yourself" approach won.
