Looking at two closely Spec’ed C43 sedans. Both used. One is a 2018 and one is a 2019. I understand the differences.

Do folks think the changes warrant another $10k-$12k premium?

Are the driving dynamics that much different?

I just had an ‘18 for 1.5 years before switching to a ‘20 today.

Depending on options, the interior can be a huge upgrade on the LCI (‘19+).

The surge of power feels like it comes in slightly higher in the rev band on the ‘20. Haven’t had one of those bucking bronco moments from the transmission yet, either (something that went away on my ‘18 with adapting to the necessary throttle application).

Biggest difference I’ve noticed is that the suspension, while harsh, had zero of the floaty feeling that my ‘18 had in Comfort.

Steering feel is better (to me), too. It’s got a bit more weight and feels closer to a hydraulic rack than a boosted electric one.

Those are just initial impressions.

In addition to any content differences, you are paying for one year difference in depreciation.

A rule of thumb is to buy the newest and lowest mileage vehicle that fits your budget and most closely meets your transportation requirements.

If u plan on tuning it, get the 18. The prefacelift models are way way way way easier to tune.

If you are gonna leave it stock the 19 is clearly better but I dunno if the difference is worth 10-12k. I dont think MBUX and the Digital Instrument Cluster is worth 12k.

I was in same predicament year and half ago between new 18 and 19. Difference in Canadian funds was $14k after everything was said and done. Unlike USA, I couldn't get any discount on new release or made to order, so went ahead and bought the '18.
