Dashcam on tinted window

I had my c43 window tinted (5% in the rear and 30% the top 4 inch of windshield). I want to get a 2ch dashcam for front and rear. Question for those who have tinted windows and dashcam, what dashcam did you get and your experience with tinted window and the visibility of the dashcam. I google tinted window and dashcam and got a mixed reviews. Some people said the rear dashcam is still helpful during the day, and others said just forget the rear since they can't see anything at all. Also, do you concern about mounting the dashcam over the tinted film? Would it damage or pull the tint film down because of the weight of the camera?

I doubt mine is tinted to 5% but my 2 years old Blackvue 1080p (I believe 590?) has trouble at the brightest setting for the rear cam during night time. In my opinion, it is un-usable at rear cam at nights. Like you said, the rear cam is good for day time use. At night, all I see is 2 white lights.

Newer models with IR might be better. There are lots of youtube test videos for reference.

Because I didn't wanted to ruin my rear window tint, I stuck the rear cam on parking sensor display by the rear roof liner.

When I installed mine, I came into a post with a really neat idea.

Buy a cheap phone protective film that statically clings onto glass surfaces.
Cut it into the footprint of the rear cam. Clean surface on rear glass, stick film to rear glass.
Install rear cam onto film with the normal double sided tape.

For 2 years, I have not had the cam fall down and there is no chance of damaging the tint if you ever have to remove the setup.

Great advice. Thanks. I will try this.
