245 or 255 Winter tires on 9J wheels?

Finding wheels for the winter setup turned out to be quite difficult. I ended up with 18 inch 8J fronts and 9J rears, both ET35. I am hoping to run them without spacers, there was a guy here that was successful with ET35. So, I am sticking with 225s for the front, so there is not rubbing.

I am not sure what to do for the 9J rears - 245 or 255? Are there advantages of running 255s for winter tires?

The selection for 245 is quite larger than the one for 255.

If you’re purchasing new rims, why not run a square setup? (Ie, the same 18x8 in the rear)

Because this is how they sell them. I would have loved four 8J wheels, but unfortunately I had to settle for these.

Go with narrower tires for winter.
