Car smell hot? (you know that smell, the hot smell)
Hi everyone,
is it normal that the car smell hot when i stand nearby the passenger side especially near the wheel location? I popped the hood and realize the "hot" smell came from the red area that I circled, and the yellow arrow area (not sure what that parts called, sorry not an under the hood guy but I'm learning), that pot is particularly hotter than other area after a 30mins highway driving. Car was Trans: 145F, Oil 205F at the time I smelled it.
1 year maint. is due in 2months. Should I be concern and mention it to the dealer when they service it?
Thanks for reading.

Ahh yes, the hot smell. Great smell. The best.
The "pot" is the coolant overflow reservoir. It contains the extra engine coolant -- the fluid that gets hot the fastest. Normal.
Turbo is also right next to it and the cats right underneath.

Thank you for the explanation. Now it makes perfect sense to be hot there while all the hot stuff are there. Much appreciate that.
