Common wear and tear issue

Possibly looking to purchase a 2016 c450 with 55 000 kms on it and priced at 38000(Canadian). It’s at the local Mercedes dealership and was owned by one of the GM’s with the dealership group. Apparently he cares for his cars quite a bit but It has higher kms than what I was looking for.

is there certain issues that start popping up for these cars at around that km range that I would need to worry about? I would be purchasing the extended warranty but curious to what the common issues are as the kms start climbing on these cars.

tires are at 40% so I’d be doing those sooner than later, brakes they claim are still good but would need to get the full details on them.

Year 4 service is fairly pricey since it’s the B service with brake flush and other items. Check the tires thoroughly as they wear out fast and often unevenly, especially if on the 19 inch option. Seem like they are quite reliable so far.

Check how many years cpo warranty they give for pre-owned used benz. At that price, ask them to throw in extra years. Make sure to get the warranty that fixes everything, not just power train and not the 3rd party kind. Only the original CPO warranty from benz.

The extended warranty is 2 years comprehensive and 3 powertrain. is term something that can be negotiated? I had mentioned id want longer but the salesmen said thats all they offer. I believe it was about 3500 cost wise. Id basically need to trade it in after the 2 years is up, thats why im hesitant.

Sounds like they will only do the 2 year comprehensive and 3 year power train on the extension as thats all mercedes offers. is this true for any Canadians that have bought pre owned?

2016 C450 AMG
I purchased a 2016 C450 CPO with 21,000 (33,796km) miles in July 2019. I did the Service B at 30,000 miles which cost about $450 American. I took the car in (35,000 miles) to determine why the auto start/stop wasn't operating. It turned out to be a bad battery (not covered under warranty) event though the car started fine. The dealer did notice that the front differential was leaking as well as the front covers. This repair was covered under the CPO warranty which expires in June of this year. I was surprised that the brakes were worn at 35,000 miles so I replaced those but that is somewhat dependent on driver and how aggressive they drive.

I would say over the last 1.5 years I have nothing bad to say about the car. I love it!! When I was researching luxury sports cars I considered BMW and Audi. In my research I found that MB had a higher reliability rating than both BMW and Audi as well as lower overall maintenance cost. Just my 2 cents.

I have seen some adverts for 4+ years on CPO. Guess they are just adding what's left on original factory warranty + 2 years CPO. Or it's some 3rd party warranty which I would avoid.
