Jb4 & throttle response

I have a ‘19 C43
I’ve noticed, along with others, a delay in throttle response. Has anyone with a jb4 noticed an improvement in throttle response?

The JB4 won't, but they carry a product that they say does. http://www.burgertuning.com/BMS_PEDAL_TUNER

I am willing to bet the “delay” you are perceiving is a product of being in the wrong gear when you give it the beans. The delay you are experiencing is likely the transmission kicking down to a lower gear. Try manually kicking down a gear or two (while in sport+) so the car is at 3800 to 4500 rpms and I bet you will not perceive a delay.

It’s only when I’m coming from a stop.
Even when I’m rolling I don’t notice it.
I will see what it feels like in manual.
thanks

I do notice in my C43 that my throttle response for the first 1in. of travel doesn't do much. I've since plugged a throttle booster device to it and bumped it up a bit. This doesn't make the car faster or anything but it "feels" more responsive because half an inch of pedal travel can be customized to be 30%, 50% or just something crazy high so pretty much the usable pedal travel becomes shorter, so each little bit of movement equates to way more input than normal, thus providing a more responsive feel.

To be clear, I was not suggesting to put the car in manual mode - I was referring to you manually downshifting with the left paddle. That said, your problem is apparently when going off the line, so my suggestion will not help. My c43 is a pre-facelift coupe and far from stock, but the throttle in sport plus with traction control off is a hair-trigger. Even when stock in the correct driving mode (assuming the car is fully warmed up) I do not recall any lag.

I just use Sprintbooster. Simple, small and you can remove the controller itself after you've set it up, unless you like to keep adjusting it then you can leave it on. There are plenty others on the market and probably for less as well, but I just prefer Sprintbooster since they are the original or the first one that made these types of products.

In comfort mode, I notice that the throttle response is slow when the car is fully stopped. You hear the engine running and after 0.5 seconds, the car starts moving.

Also, I find it hard to merge or pass other cars on the highway unless you step on the throttle and it drops a gear. By that time, it's already too late.

I leave my car on Sports mode but in traffic, the car jerks in lower gears. It's hard to find the perfect balance and it's getting annoying.

Is the solution to get JB4 or this pedal response module?

If transmission is the issue, then a JB4 won't help, but a TCU tune might help. I use a Sprintbooster to adjust pedal response and I really like it, but that's something you will have to try on your own to see if you like that behavior.

The automatic 9 speed transmission in the facelifted version that I have is just a really bad implementation on Mercedes's part. They want to go with an automatic either because it's cheaper or because they don't deem the C43 sporty enough, or they want to reserve the DCT for their top of the line full AMG models, like the C63.

I would rather them tune the automatic transmission to be super comfortable so that it's seamless when stepping on the throttle or seamless when stopping the car. Either that, or tune it super aggressive so that it downshifts a lot earlier when the car is slowing down. It's really a horrible jerk when the car switches from 2nd to 1st gear when the speed goes from 1 to 0. Like what? I did hear that the pre-facelift version allows being in 2nd gear while completely stopped. I don't know why they took that out but that would have helped with smoothness. BMW and Audi allows this too I believe. Idk why Mercedes forces 1st gear.

I have the pre-facelift version (2018 model) and it is always in 2nd gear completely stopped, but when I'm in sports mode and sitting in traffic, gear 3 to gear 2 always jerks. I have to be gentle on the pedal during traffic to make it smooth.

With the Sprintbooster, does your pedal response feel like it's in Sports mode when you are in the Comfort mode setting?

It depends how aggressive you have the Sprintbooster set, but it doesn't change the shift point. It's just as if you stepped on the throttle faster. So in your example, it won't affect the downshifts since you're just stopping. What is noticeable is how responsive it feels when you hit the throttle and it can be set to be a lot more responsive than sport or sport+.
