L.E.M Front Air Intakes ( FAI) *OFFICIAL DEVELOPMENT THREAD*

I don’t tbh but I’ll say this much - on a stock car that I was almost exclusively driving in sport + since I got it two months ago, I have loved driving it in comfort since and enjoyed not blowing through fuel lol. The sound is great, turbos spooling quicker and holding boost. It’s been a good time in the cold Chicago weather

@Maverick43 : we'll set you up with the same beta kit if you want (email us if interested). and just as an FYI, without the Heatshields with the weather at around 45- 50 degrees and below there is no degradation in performance or IAT's.
with the HS, they do quiet the sound a bit, they also flow a tiny bit better without them on because there isn't a "barrier" around the media element that restricts CFM's. So we recommend to remove them when the temps hit the 45-50 mark for maximum unhindered performance.
Remember: these are at the very front of the engine which is the coolest part of the engine bay. With only 3" of travel to the turbo inlet.
* boost comes in 500 rpms sooner
* holds the boost longer
*increased gas mileage (since the engine doesn't have to work as hard make power)
*better throttle response
*OEM material for the elbows and sensor extenders

Any updates to when these will be out to purchase? I’m in Florida so heat shields are a must for me but I’m itching to buy them so i can get the tune going too. Downpipes are just sitting in my garage waiting to be put on.

Hey Jake thanks for your enthusiasm!
2 different hold ups
1. MB changed the MAP sensor between the c450,C43,C400 cars (running change) so the MAP sensor is a little loose inside the port on the elbow. We are sourcing new rubber O-rings to put on the MAP sensor so that they dont wiggle when in the port. These will be mailed out to all Beta purchasers for free and will be included in the kit moving forward.
2. Believe it or not there are slightly different engine heights between the coupe, sedan and also year to year (minimal, but they are there). SO we need to make a Heat shied that can fit within all those variables or it will press too hard against the hood. These are un-expected delays but we dont want to release the product and then get complaints about this, that or the other ya' know ?
Once we nail the design (which is nearing its final iterations, we will place the product up for order).

MBWorld Fanatic!
I know dragy numbers aren’t everything but if anybody has them for this intake, it would be great to see.
my numbers look pretty much same as stock
And there are some great sounds but my car also makes some strange sounds.
lem explained it that the car always made those noises I just couldn’t hear them with the stock intake

Whenever I test a new map or mod I do 0-60, 1/4 mile and 100-200 kph. Afew runs of each will be enough to get a definite comparison pre and post.
