not sure what an average car iat is. but our motors start to pull power when iat is above 90F. ideal conditions for iat are sub 80F. on hot days idling its easy to get up to 100-120 IAT with open filter designs.

Thanks for the technical info. It would suck for those of us that live in swampy hot and muggy areas if when it hits 90 it cuts power. :/ womp.

There's not really any such thing as an average IAT for cars.
if you are tuned you will run higher IATs than stock especially in warmer more humid weather. More boost raises IATs.
This is why the Wagner chargecooler and or WMI are great essential mods for any tuned C43.
You will get a massive reduction in IATs and heatsoak with these mods.
I was the first to fit the Wagner In the UK. We ran logs on the Dyno, I took videos of the IAT log but have lost them now.
The IATs were about 10-15Celcious lower with the Wagner than stock cooler in the same conditions.
On 100-200 kph and sustained hard driving / track use I can really feel the difference, no soft throttle as before when the IATS rose and it heat soaked. I have also done some half mile racing which is good test.
Another mod to help reduce IATs which may not be as obvious is to decat. When tuned the Cats become a bottleneck for hot exhaust gas and radiate a lot more heat. This passes back to turbos / and into the engine bay indirectly causing heat soak. I have also heatwrapped my downpipes.
After the engine was running and hard 0-80 runs, we immediately put the car on the ramp and I could still put my hand on the DPs thanks to wrapping.

Very well said with the cats. Makes sense scientifically. I have the logos engineering monster downpipes (had to take them off to test the amg performance inspired exhaust).

I may wrap the dps.
