Do new tires need alignment

and of course the dealer says I’ll need an alignment AND only they have the special tool to do it.
sounds crazy. But I came from nissans. Lol

FOR SURE! It’s not a recommendation, it’s a must. Especially if you’re getting different kind of tires and if you haven’t had one done in a long time. Your car can be out of alignment even if you can’t feel it, plus it will save the life of your tires and it will handle better as well if they do a full alignment. They’ll adjust the camber etc etc. In fact, I’d have one done when you get the new tires and then have another one done 6 months later if you’re leaving those garbage run flats like I did. You’re gonna love your car even more once you get rid of those things. The ride and handling of your car will improve drastically.
And regards to the “special tool”.. I had my4 wheel alignment done at tire discounters. They either have the special tool or that was a lie, but I watched them do the alignment and didn’t notice anything special. Plus if you have one done there, you get free alignments for a year.

so, I'd probably take it in to the dealer and have them check the alignment and then deny alignment service if specs were good and save the buck.
tires. I went with Lexani tires because they’re rated very high for all season high performance. They handle better than the factory Continentals that came on the car too. I only paid $480 shipped for all 4 tires too.
