2021 C63S Coupe
Just an observation from a 43/63 owner

Let me preface this thread with the info that I own both a 2021 C43 coupe and a 2021 C63S coupe, both optioned nearly identical with exception of carbon brakes, carbon / aero packs.

Most times I visit the individual forums the majority of posts are tune, engine mods, how to go faster, exhaust, cats, etc. This brings me to the obvious - is anyone happy with the performance of their car the way it was delivered? I'm being honest here - the only mod I've made besides window tint is a Renntech exhaust module on the C63s because I want the flaps open all the time. That's it.
Both cars are an absolute hoot to drive and unless you're on a race track you can't expect much better from each. Every time I drive the 43 or 63 I'm satisfied (each in it's own way) -- would knocking 1/10th of a second off roll on or 0-60 make a difference in that? - likely not. I also feel re-sale is easier - IMO if you've got every gadget bolted on, a prospective buyer is immediately cautious of what they might be walking into.
Anyway, that's it - constructive comments appreciated!

Yes, I am. I've never tuned a car and have no plans doing it. I buy the car with the performance I'm looking for, which is why I have a C63 and not a C43. To me, most tunes and modifications ultimately just destroy the balance a car offers out of the box. To do a proper tune/upgrade you have to take a very comprehensive approach and then you are spending a lot of money. I'm talking things like a complete Brabus upgrade or even CarBahn, who take a holistic approach. AMG is a tuner already and they design and test their cars to make sure they are properly tuned and are drivable in all situations and offer a great balance. Just bolting on a bunch of third-party products doesn't make a good car, IMO. I do minor modifications, mainly aftermarket brakes and tires. For example I have the Brembo full floating rotors on my C63S coupe now, but those are technically OEM, because they are found on the C63 BS and AMG GT R roadster for example. These parts are also consumables and eventually have to be replaced anyway, so might as well try better tires or better rotors. The thing is once I stepped into the 450/500 HP space I realized you can't really use more on public roads, even in the canyons and I never feel the car is power constrained. The only time I wished I had more power was on the Nurburgring during my ED trip. On those straights the car felt a bit slow compared to others, but it also hadn't opened up at that point. Like other performance cars I had in the past, the C63 opened up more around 10k miles. However, if I wanted to track an AMG regularly, I'd probably get one of the AMG GT models for that. The C63S coupe is a grand tourer for the roads, which is what I want, whereas the AMG GT is more track focused.

my car functions as a company leased vehicle. I go in without the intention of voiding my warranty. Out of the box performance is adequate for the city driving I do daily.

It’s kind of messed up for me. I want to have more power than I can control but want to be able to control it.
I love my car!!

I drove a buddies lambo and wanted to push it too far.

When I started shopping for my next car before I got the C63 I had the opportunity to extensively test drive several R8. I took the coupe, performance and spyder to the canyons several times, and walked away not liking it because I constantly had to hold back. The car had more power than I could actually use and it made it kinda frustrating. As they say, it's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than it is to drive a fast car slow. It basically made me realize that I don't want a supercar, because you can't really properly drive them outside of the track.

Understandable! I really tried to justify the Renntech stage 1 tune for the C63S to get it over 600 HP -- I dunno why I think I need it, but the idea of it sure sounded really good in my head

My C43 engine is stock, the only upgrades I’ve done are wheels, tires and springs. Forged monoblocks from VSForged and Michelin PS4s, and H&R VTF springs. I have a gig in Malibu and have had to drive Malibu Canyon Rd for a week now. The car feels great with AWD and I’m totally happy the way it is. The only thing that sucks is gas! Hahaha!

2018 C43 coupe
Finally a group of people that largely leave their cars stock! I was beginning to feel like the only one! My C43 is entirely the way it came from the dealer, and will stay that way. Granted, this was my first foray into the higher performance German car world, so i may not be as particular about this little quirk or that little thing that isn't as smooth as a supercar would be, but i can generally say that i love my car! It is a blast to drive, and has all of the power i can realistically use in a daily driver. While track experiences are incredible fun, its not why i bought the car.in the first place. And i have had absolutely no problems (for which i am glad i have a German-built coupe).
