My understanding is that you can't just remove the OPF. There are sensors before and after that measure exhaust flow to determine when the OPF is full and a burn cycle needs to be triggered, so the ECU has support for all that. If you remove it, it will mostly likely trigger issues.

Effectively yes, but pretty sure the ECU will complain if they are missing, or if they are left in place they may report an improbable measurement as they are expecting a certain reduction in exhaust flow from the OPF, which if missing, the flow would be higher than expected and they may report an OPF malfunction. Normally, the particulate filters clear themselves if the exhaust gets hot enough, for example with lots of highway driving. This is called passive regeneration, but if the exhaust never gets hot enough for example due to frequent short distance driving, then it can fill up and an active burn off needs to be triggered. So the sensors are there to detect this and let the ECU know that it needs to artificially increase the exhaust temperature, but they are also there to make sure the OPF works as designed.

Probably, but not many members here that might be able to help you. The majority of members are from the USA here, and US spec models don't have the OPF. They have secondary cats as before.
