Consensus on Coating Down pipes?

I've been in touch with a shop that sells down pipes for the M276 W205 cars. Initially I asked if they could drop ship to Jet Hot for their 2500 series coating.

They seemed to really not be very keen on the idea of coating the DPs.

Quoting them here, "Honestly...the pipes are so far and down low in the engine that it will not be necessary. MB didn't do it, so we didn't. "

My anecdotal experience at the dragstrip says cooling this car down between runs is a $h!t show, and anything that keeps heat out of the engine bay is a net good.

Wondering what others think, or what experiences you've had with coated down pipes.

I wrapped mine with DEI wrap and they have done me well.
Depends on how concerned you are with having good times and how you drive the car. for me, ill take whatever advantages i can get.

I def would agree with both sentiments. If your the casual driver and with a sealed intake the cats are low enough to not be a heating issue to the extent where it will be a concern. This is the opposite of lets say a c63 where vendors sell "turbo blankets" because those turbos are freaking inside the engine bay..lol. thats where you want the most cooling.

If you want that extra inch, the peace of mind, that little omph to put you over the top, go for for it.

Maybe DEI wrap would be enough. Plus from what I read, aftermarket downpipes in general don't heat up as much as OEM because heat can evacuate faster-seen this mentioned more than once when I was down with the Subaru and VW/Audi crowd
