Consensus on Coating Down pipes?

They seemed to really not be very keen on the idea of coating the DPs.
Quoting them here, "Honestly...the pipes are so far and down low in the engine that it will not be necessary. MB didn't do it, so we didn't. "
My anecdotal experience at the dragstrip says cooling this car down between runs is a $h!t show, and anything that keeps heat out of the engine bay is a net good.
Wondering what others think, or what experiences you've had with coated down pipes.

Depends on how concerned you are with having good times and how you drive the car. for me, ill take whatever advantages i can get.
If you want that extra inch, the peace of mind, that little omph to put you over the top, go for for it.
Maybe DEI wrap would be enough. Plus from what I read, aftermarket downpipes in general don't heat up as much as OEM because heat can evacuate faster-seen this mentioned more than once when I was down with the Subaru and VW/Audi crowd
