In doing some research, my guess is heat soak. I've been reading people recommending to use BMC drop in filters instead of these intakes

There's a FB group I'm in for 450/43 and several people in there have gotten it and they all seem to like it. Said heat wasn't a problem and sounds really good. There's clips and stuff on there too.
