Advice on key fob not working
Hi guys, I’m new to Mercedes AMG. I tried googling and searching the forum, but couldn’t find a solution.
I bought a 2017 C43. I have two key fobs. One works and the other had a flat battery (well so the owner thought) and hadn’t been used in a long time - it’s in mint condition compared to the working key.
I have replaced the battery. I can see the light is working on the key. I can see the IR is working when I view with my camera. The other key works so I assume the fuse and the antenna are okay in the car.
The key does not open/close doors nor does it work when I insert into the ignition after removing the start/stop button. I saw multiple answers online about holding the lock button and then the unlock button 5 times etc, but there is all sorts of different solutions and they didn’t work for me.
Has anyone the knowledge to be able to provide a solution to get the key synced again myself with the car? Or does it have to go to a Mercedes dealer?
