Hi all, new to this list having recently purchased a 2018 C43, coming from a CLS550. Car is equipped with 19” run flats and has often happened on my CLS, the crappy construction work on the Pennsylvania roads has given me a blowout.
I’ve replaced run flats in my CLA250, opting for Conti DWS06, which I’ve loved on other cars but am in a quandary as to what to do here. Do I simply replace the popped run flat to match the others or do I go for a full change over to a set of DWS?
What have most of you done and if ditching the run flats? do you carry an electric pump and can of fix a flat or have you purchased a spare tire kit?
PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)

Congrats on your car! Thanks for posting pictures. Recommended to get a full set, it helps ensure the 4MATIC system doesn't get damaged. If you want to try something else, PS4s is the go to tires for the majority of us for this car and got most of our votes.
I Would definitely swap over to non run flats.. my brother and i were doing my oil change and just looking over the car, i might have a turbo feed/return line leaking cause i had some good coating on my underside, we're gonna check again in a few thousand miles before he really starts looking for it.. anyways lol, i had a 8-9 inch rip in my tire, Goodyear summer run flats.. I had almost no life left on the tires so i didnt care but he swapped over my all seasons for me.. way less noise and better ride on non run flats... sorry thats alot for a simple comment haha
I bought a used c450 AMG a couple of years ago with brand new run flats..I replaced 2 within about 6k miles..Instead of replacing the second one, I junked the whole lot of them and replaced them with PS 3's..Better, smoother ride, quieter..Not one regret.
I love the DWS and have run them on several cars. Just had a blowout on one of the run flats and the other 3 are in good shape so trying to decide whether to replace the one Contisportcontact (substandard tire) for $300+ Or ditch the 3 decent treads and go with a full set of DWS for about $1k.
With PA winter coming soon I should just buck up for the DWS all-seasons…but still trying to convince myself.
I, too, used the blowout of one of the RF Contis this summer as an excuse to ditch the whole set and replaced with PS4s. Made a huge difference (for the better) in ride and handling..
Of course now I have a cracked rim to repair as well.
What is it with MBZ & BMW wheels that makes them so vulnerable to pot holes and such??
I couldn’t speak too much as to why they’re so vulnerable, I suspect it has something to do with keeping costs down. I’m just as baffled as to why they also choose to put them on runflats too! they’re just too stiff for the alloys and are generally what causes them to crack after a pothole..
I recommend getting the PS4S’s, it makes such a difference to the ride quality and are more forgiving with the alloys.
