Intercooler coolant flush.

Hi guys, hope you're all doing great.

I'm about to make an engine coolant flush in my C450 and I want to know how to flush the coolant on the watercooler system. I'm aware it's a separate circuit and that uses the same coolant type as radiator does.
First of all, is it necessary? I don't buy that "lifetime fluids" thing.

I've searched all over internet and the forum but couldn't find any useful info.

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards.

Sorry that I don't have an answer, as I am curious as well, never did coolant on my car yet but I know I will eventually need to.

I plan on doing mine when i upgrade the intercooler in the spring. Would be at around 85k miles then. It doesnt see the same temps as the engine coolant circuit so i would expect it to last longer than the 150k service interval on the engine coolant.
You would need the vac refill tool to remove the air from the system but it doesnt seem more complex than an engine coolant change.

Finally i just disconected the hose between the pump and radiator to take the old coolant out and then just refill through the I/C expansion tank. That worked fine for me. Hope this helps.

Regards.

Thanks for the recommendation.
