Question Considering Purchasing a 2020-2021 C43 AMG, what to know? Tips from current owners?

New to the forum, and have my heart set on a pre-owned C43 AMG, either 2020 or 2021 depending on price/mileage I find. I'm hoping to pick one up with under 40k miles.
1) Can anyone comment on the overall reliability of this generation of C43?
2) Any general tips and tricks for buying and ownership from owners?
3) What 40k mile maintenance items can I expect to fall into upon purchasing the car?

Thanks in advance for the help!!

PFA...

I am the second owner of a 2019 C43 which I bought at 27,000kms and I am currently at 72,000kms. I have encountered the following:

Pickering Auto Lab - Oil changes every 10,000kms
DIY - boost pressure solenoid valve duck sound issue - easy fix and the part was around $100
Warranty and DIY - panoramic roof squealing issues - replaced the front panoramic roof panel and it helped a bit but had to adjust the 4 bolts for the panoramic roof slotted brackets afterwards
Warranty - front valve cover leaking oil - replaced the valve cover silicon and that stopped the leak
Warranty - condensation in taillight - replaced taillight
Warranty - exhaust tip paint chipping - replaced exhaust tips
DIY - replaced front and rear rotors, pads, and wear sensors.

I have a 2021 C43 Wagon (I'm from Canada) purchased new and I consider it the best car I've ever owned. I thoroughly enjoy every time and every minute I am in it.

Touch wood, but I have had zero major issues with it Once in a while the main display goes black, but usually turning the car off and restarting cures that, but it doesn't happen often to force me to take it in for service. I also had one time where the Apple CarPlay froze, but resetting CarPlay on my iPhone cursed that.

I bought the extended warranty, mainly because of all the electronics these things have, so I'm good for four more years. I would very much consider purchasing the extended warranty if available.

I haven't done any mods, like quite a few do here, the stock car is just fine for me.

The car you're looking at is a Mercedes CPO, correct? If not, you'll want to get it checked out.
Service by the dealer is quite expensive, so if you can find a good independent service centre, you can save dollars that way.
Hopefully the previous owner has followed the recommended maintenance.

I still go to the dealership for maintenance, and will do until the warranty runs out, that way if there is a warranty covered problem, maintenance and who did it will not be an issue.

Also premium gas is expensive as well.

The only nit that I have is the main display if not a touch screen, that came in the next generation.

I love this car....I hope to keep it for a long time.

Good luck with what-ever you find.

Hi, thanks for your insight. Yes I'm trying to do CPO for sure, and plan on purchasing some sort of extended warranty. I'd consider buying from a private seller if they have all service records, but the smartest move seems to be going through a dealership, even if cost is slightly higher.

What mileage are you at now with your car? How often do you do oil changes?

I am at 35,000KM, 22,000Miles. I know, that's not much for 3 years, but this was during COVID and I am retired, so there is no to and from work involved.

As for oil changes, I go once a year as the car tells me to, so on average every 12,000KM, 7,600Miles.

I've been told to avoid panoramic sunroofs... I think I'll try to find the base model.

I've got a panoramic sunroof on my C43 Wagon, and I had a panoramic sunroof on my previous E350 Wagon and other than keeping the tracks clean and free of gunk, I had no problems.

But that's just my experience, other folks have had issues.
