2020 c43 p01228 code/engine temp questions
Brought c43 to dealer.. I had previously replaced battery, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, coolant/ coolant system psi check with no leaks and coolant cap. Reset codes and car runs great and code didn’t come back for about a month. Brought it to dealer and they didn’t see any problems and they did an update of scn coding and all software up to date. They said code may come back and if so they need to run test procedure from cold start to verify coolant is getting up to temp in a specified time. So I did test this morning myself and started car cold in a 57 f degree garage. At start the car was at 72f (22c). So I let it idle and took readings at 5 min intervals up to 20 minutes.
reading at 5 min was 122f(50c) reading at 10 min was 145f(63c), reading at 15 minutes was 167f(75c) and final 20 minute reading at idle was 185f(85c). After this, I city drove the car for 20 minutes( non spirited driving) and the coolant reading was 203f(95c).. then I hopped on highway for 20 minutes and reading was 191f(88c). I just wanted to see if anyone else with this car has similar readings to this or do my readings seem to low as the code signifies. Thanks
