rythmic noise from rear of car

My C43 sedan has 45k on it and about 10k miles ago I noticed a rythmic noise from the rear. I have 2 sets of tires and when I got my new set the noise was gone but about 10k miles in the noise came back. The noise literally starts from 1 mph on up getting higher in frequency as speed increases. Has anyone experienced anything like this? I took it to a shop and they insisted it had to be the tires. I'm sort of convinced it's the bearings but I don't know. I'm almost willing to swap out the rear bearing but don't know how hard it is on this car.

45K seem a bit premature for bearings though, hmmm, did you rotate the rear ones only, what tire pressures did you try, is it louder when dry or wet roads, hot or cold weather?

I rotate tires every time I switch from winter to summer tires and back. The noise is definitely louder the more weight in the car. When my kids are in the back it's very loud. I'll play with tire pressure but it's currently sitting at 36 lbs cold in the rear on 19" wheels.

You are getting the same sound with both the summers and winters or only summer or winter? If so which set?

Yeah, although I've had a few things happen in the past. When I had new summer tires the noise wasn't present. They now are making the noise however. Each set of tires is on it's own set of wheels. I know it would point to the tires but the noise literally starts as soon as I start driving. It's crazy how quick it starts up. I'm curious if toe is out as I can't think what else would be causing it unless there truly is some drivetrain noise coming through.

Hmmm I mean if the sound is there on both set of tires and wheels then it is unlikely the tire and wheels. Forgot if you mentioned yet if you did any alignment, road force balancing. These cars have a whining rear diff characteristic but it doesn't happen at rolling speed like you mentioned.

Definitely not the differential whine. I hear that on occasion and that's actually pretty quiet compared to the noise I'm hearing. I may play around with a few things this weekend to see if I can figure out if it's the tires or not.

Hope it works out for you OP, as mentioned previously wheel bearing is unlikely and very premature if true.

The more I think about it the more I think this is truly a tire issue. I'm really frustrated because I think the alignment on my car, which was done at the dealer twice has too much toe. I can't think what else would be causing the scaloping of the tires. These aren't cheap tires either and they still have 50% tread life so I'm really frustrated. I'm bringing it into another shop I trust to do an alighnment next Monday. I'll get an alignment and maybe get new tires, yet again. This car is getting expensive which is unfortunate because I do like it but the noise is driving me crazy. I know it's not a honda but my other car is a C8 Z06 so I'm alright with spending money, just not for tires that are constantly needed on a daily driver.

Hmmm so alignment issue, you could probably get it aligned at a reputable alignment shop. Don't keep going to the same shop.
