Exhaust flap 2 blocked (C43 2017)

From time to time i got this when i scan my car

Exhaust Flap 2 Has A Malfunction. The Actuator Is Blocked.

Is anyone deal with that and what was the actual issue the spring inside the actuator or the actuator itself?

Mine work flaps seemed to work correct whenever i press the button as soon i drive for 5min after the cold start, so not sure what actually is the issue

Hmmm, I thought your car was straight piped and/or did muffler delete? I would just force the valves open and disconnect everything or use an exhaust valve module to keep it open all the time and be done with it. I mean these valves have the reputation of squeaking or failing on many MB models, including but not limited to AMG GT, E 63 S and C 63 S.

Nope, just catless, im not fan of module because my car will be so much loud... im just trying to figure out by the code that i get from time to time if its the actuator itself OR the sprint inside which i can change

63s have 3rd flap which is in the H pipe and most of the times that's the rattle that they have issue with

Perhaps try swapping the two actuators side by side and see if the code goes from flap 2 to flap 1.

will see when i will have time to unmount them and check the spring

if im on ignition before start the car flaps will not open/close at all but i remember before it was working, it will work only when i start the car and only when few min after the cold start

how are yours on ignition you can switch on/off, dont you?

Yes it can be switched on/off without engine started but keep in mind I use a EWM so it probably changed the behaviour.

FWIW, I just checked our 2017 C43 sedan (Canadian delivery). The engine was still warm, having returned from an appointment about an hour ago.

When engaging the 2nd ignition position (foot off brake, so no start), you can clearly hear the exhaust valves actuate. About 5 seconds after turning the ignition off, there's also another actuation noise (presumably going to their at-rest position).

I did start the car and operate the exhaust-valve button and could not hear any actuation but I didn't let the car run more than about 20 sec as the garage door was closed.

Thanks forum member user33 for chiming in, I can confirm that is the exact same behaviour as yours, I removed the EVM just to test it for OP.
