Weistec Tuning & CPO warranty - C43 '21
I bought my C43 2021 in Oct 2025 w/ 30k miles, single owner, and CPO. I also purchased an extended warranty for an additional two years (purchased for $3800, however, as I understand it, I can cancel this and receive a full/prorated refund at any time?)
After owning the car for a little over half a year, I have begun looking into tuning it to unlock its real potential. Weistec W.1 / Catted DP / (possibly intakes) seems to be the combination that best fits my needs (along with possibly installing an upgraded intercooler and spark plugs, although I'm not sure if this is necessary for a conservative stage 1 ECU tune like Weistec's W.1?).
The obvious conflict is with tuning and the CPO extended warranty. As it stands, my plan is to ride out the remaining 1 year of free warranty on CPO vehicles (expiring Oct 2026) and see if the car throws any issues my way. The part that I'm unsure of is if I should cancel & refund my extended warranty, or if I should keep it as an additional layer, even if powertrain warranty claims may be jeopardized.
Not sure if it means anything, but my local (Long Island area) Benz service center is listed as an authorized dealer on the Weistec website, so I assume they have some familiarity with Weistec products/tunes that other dealerships in my area may not have. Obviously, the smart thing to do in this situation would be to wait the full 3 years for my original + extended warranty to expire, but I feel that by the time those 3 years are up, I will be ready to move on from this car.
