why did they give it 457 bhp not 481 like the CLK 63? Is it because the CLK has to keep up with M6 and RS5 in the future ??!! I personally was waiting for 481 and thought the C63 might be a future replacement for my E55.

its all about marketing...
good Q's kip

the way i see it

clearly there is little mechanical difference between all 4 6.2V8 engine variants

w204 336kW
w209 354kW
w211 378kW
w221 386kW

so the main difference is down to a marking differentation, however comparing power to weight ratios is a better thing, dont forget your w211 weighs in at 1840kgs where as a w204 C63AMG should be around 1600kgs...

Exactly. If this car lives up to all the hype, it will be faster than a stock W211 E55/E63, imho.

Exactly. The largest question to me will be.. Can this little car put all the power down on the ground and actually pull a decent 1/4? I forsee a TON of wheel spin.
