waiting for c63 amg
C63amg , on waitlist.

Hi there.

Does anybody know what the price will likely be when the new c63amg comes out? And also what options will be available in the US? I am #2 on the waitlist where I live and salivating over what options I might add.

Thankx

No clue yet

I got 2nd build slot where I live too and no one at the dealer has the info yet...pure speculation so far. On the agreement I signed with the dealer, when I put down my deposit, it did state that they will not charge above MSRP but I bet they figure out some way to overcharge for something. The best I could find on the internet about equipment etc can be found here http://www.zercustoms.com/news/Merce...in-detail.html

I check this site, Mercedes and AMG sites daily looking for more info. Let me know if you find something.

thanx for the reply. I'll check out the site. My dealer also promised msrp, but I think you're probably right on the upcharge potential. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Suspension

just to clarify....the C 63 will Not have different suspension settings...only one is available. An earlier poster stated that the test was not conducted with the more comfortable suspension setting employed. That's because there's no choice...only one setting

just wanted to say thanks for this thread... I have asked about this waiting list for some time now. Went to the dealer yesterday and talked to the GM. he started a list and I am at the top! I had to put down 5K though. My wife was pissed...

Um..that's just ridiculous. I have the #1 spot at my dealer and he's not even asking for a deposit. On top of that, I've never even bought a car from him. I can understand a $1k deposit but that $5k just went into your salesman's personal money market.

I know where it went but the choice I had was 1K and non refundable or 5K that could be refunded.

He's not. A couple of friends have bought from him in the past with the same stipulation (ie. new, sought after models). He knows he can turn around and sell it if he has to. Did I mention I'm getting MSRP as well? Yes, it will be in writing once I spec the car. Belive it or not, there are still some good salesman out there.

If they refuse to refund a "deposit" do a "press release" and they will come to you with your money quicker than a black cat with a lighted firecracker up its backside...

Yeah thats way too much $. They say June of next yr release which is a long way. You should have interest added on that $5k!

This info is correct. I am a salesman at a local MB dealership and I can confirm the above comment. Obviously, we don't want you to pull back on your commitment (since that is what your deposit is doing for you, committing you to a vehicle); however, every customer is entitled to their money back if they are unable to purchase or just decide the car is not for them. If a dealer says otherwise, definitely go somewhere else.

+1

The deposit is always refundable, otherwise you can report them to the DMV investigation unit, in which the dealer will have to explain a lot about their wierd policy.

I went thru this same thing when Ducati released the 1098/1098s. Announced in Nov 06, I finally took delivery in May of 07. I sent the dealer $1k deposit. He was cool about it and told me he could get $28k (mine is a BLACK 1098s) for the bike if I didn't want to pay the $20k msrp plus $1100 setup fee) and get 100% refund. So I of course grabbed the bike.

BUT, on the Duc forums I heard stories of guys leaving bigger deposits and getting screwed by dealers. (one left an $8k deposit in Boston if I remember right) and something went bad on his end and ended up with a $8k "gift certificate" at this dealer. that was AFTER he hired an atty and sued (the dealer won).

So anything can happen. #1, I wouldn't leave $8k with a dealer for anything I had to wait 8 months for... and #2. get it in writing when you do it, so you've got a leg to stand on. Anything can happen between now and June.. to anyone.
