i think Obsidian on black will still give that black sporty look and the metallic paint will highlight the fender etc . I read on this forum somewhere that Obsidian is more modern looking and Black is more classical looking

My guess is Obsidian will hide swrils etc better but not sure whcih is gonna look sharper unless seen side by side I guess

I like the obsidian black. Has a nice metallic shine. And will definatley had swirls more.

yup. 040 black is called scratch black at my dealership.

C63-ME

This is the key quandrum that I'm having; if there is a metallic black that hides swirls I'm in...if not I'm going with the palladium silver

C63-Me,
I saw an Obsidian black C350 Sport inside a merc dealership next to E63 AMG in regular black. When viewing both of them side by side the obsidian C350 does not call attention since it is like a light black or U can say the color is not that Intense or shiny as the regular black on the E63 IMHO

The black on E63 inside the showroom was glossy, deep and dark like a typical black merc should be but then metallic blacks are known to hide swirls better

I'm not sure how I feel about Obsidian Black, it always looks wierd to me, like it is dirty or has spots on it.

obsidian black looks better. it's different and more rare I find.

Any black is very unpractical color, too hot at summer and you need to detail it every second day. Anyway I prefer obsidan too.

it depends on where the AMG c-class product for north america is built. If it is built in East London(south africa), then you are stuck with the current colours. if it comes out of sindelfingen (germany) then you can do a PA1 special order paint and have any colour ever put into production.

No we don't get designo colors on a C-Class. We don't get anything good in the US, other than the price.
