Germany's Auto Motor und Sport magazine has done a comparison between the Alpina B3, BMW M3 coupe, and C63 AMG.
Here is the summary translated from German on another forum. The C63 AMG came in last place.
Conclusion:
1. Alpina = high-dynamically, comfortably, efficiently and low-priced defeats the B3 with its 6 cylinders the M V8 power
2. "M" = only second, but still the first choice for sensitive sport drivers, who look for response, precision and Emotions
3. AMG = optically and akkustisch the largest Showcar in the comparison. Who demands it, large dynamics experience, in addition, high consumtion and harsh comfort
Here is the data panel. The C63 has the worse handling numbers, and it didn't do that well on the acceleration runs either.

The B3 must be ready for a power upgrade, the B5 and B6 have just been given a power upgrade, they now thump the M5 & M6 by about 30 hp with a whole mountain more torque.
