Reason I ask is when I put in my order in January I was only able to specify "Black leather", there wasn't the tex/cloth interior option nor the Nappa option at the time. But yeah, now that I think about it these early orders will probably be configured with the seating package since it was assumed at that time that leather would be standard.

I had the same initial "black leather" but when the details came out, opted for the 318 pkg. Not having the package would really hurt the resale value in my opinion.

Yes I know for a fact that all iPod integration (and I think all sat radios) are VPC installed. We were told this about the iPod when I visited the Baltimore VPC with the MB Club.

Yeah it is hard to believe they would do that. Anyway I doubt if we will see any configured that way!

$3K for leather seats? That's outrageous. The M3 has a similar leather option but it includes leather on the seats, door panels, center console and some dash bits. That's way way overpriced.

... Mark my words, leather will be standard on the C63 (in the US at least) and I am 90% sure that the power seats and steering column with memory will be standard also. (Judging by the comments made during the AMG Private Lounge discussions with AMG product managment at MBUSA.) They told us that the only options for the C63 will be P2, Multimedia, TeleAid, iPod. The end. ...
Leather is not standard.
Power seating and memory is not standard.
There is another option available. Nappa leather seating pakage.

Do the seating option seats have the three buttons on the side for lumbar and bolster adjustment? Are they the bucket seats with the headrests incorporated into the seats with the AMG logo? If these two features set the seating pkg seat to be different from the standard seat (being a standard c-class seat) the price is well worth it, especially as the base price for this car is low

Am I reading this right? A loaded C63 will roughly have an MSRP of approx $62,500? I'm wondering how much the dealership will mark it up if you don't pre-order now.
That's not bad considering a loaded E92 M3 is around the $70k range (I've already seen the window stickers at the dealership last night). Funny thing is, there's a good $20k markup on the M3's so if you didn't pre-order your M3, you can pay $90k for one

Until I see an official release from MBUSA, anything is up in the air. If this thing is more expensive than the M3 4 door it's BMW all the way for me. A relatively lower resale value and no free service for 4 years are pretty much the final nails on the coffin.

Well, tecnhically it is the Nappa leather on the seats, side panels and armrest, + the memory feature for both seats and the steering column. The leather portion of the package is approx. $2K and the memory features is the remainder.

Keyless Go was indicated in private lounge as a planned option for 09 but we won't know until the 09 ordering guide comes out, which should be soon say May-ish.

Not sure about the power lumbar and bolster.
Definitely has the 3 buttom memory setting on the dor panels for driver and passenger seats and that is not available (in the U.S.) on the regular C Class.

The bolded issues definitely interest me. The lease on the C63 may be punishing.

The pano roof is not planned. An AMG response on the private lounge stated that AMG did not want to compromise handling dynamics. I guess the extra weight up high was not worth it from a handling standpoint.

Regarding the Pano Roof. If that is the case from AMG then why is the roof available on other amg models? Shouldn't their belief on handling etc be true throughout the model lineup? Oh well, I guess I understand this stance but I was really hoping it would be available. I am not going to take the car to limits where I notice any difference in handling so the extra few hundred pounds wouldn't matter to me.
Thanks again! At least keyless go is planned...

IMHO at 70k (loaded) the m3 is overshooting it's usual client that is shopping in the mid 50 - 60K range. The price of the C63 is spot on (62-63K loaded). The last gen C55 customer can upgrade from 58K fully equipped to 63K. (5K difference). The last gen M3 customer has to go from 58K for a fully equipped car to 70K!!!! (12 K difference).
Low mileage used M5's can be had for 70K
