You're crazy.
The car isn't up on Mercedes website yet and even if it were configurators are notoriously bad at getting the color right.
I don't think it unreasonable to order a car with just a basic idea of the color.
I ordered my CLK63 in Obsidian Black, having never seen that color. Same thing when I bought a CLS55 in Black Opal (IMO is the better of the two).

a picture request for a car he already ordered is odd b/c he is a member of this forum, there are thousands of pictures of the C63 on the internet and hundreds on this forum. i guess all blacks are the same according to you.

Either help him out or keep it to yourself.
It isn't that easy to distinguish different shades of color of a car model from car configurators or bad internet pictures. On top of that its a new model and there aren't that many pics of it in black.
And when did I say all black cars are the same? I think I pointed out I prefer Black Opal to Obsidian Black(which I prefer to straight black). But I really could only make that judgement AFTER I got the car because of the reasons stated above.

i ordered a black one before even seeing it in person because there are way too many white normal C class here in vancouver. (even my dealer told me so) therefore, i thought i'd go with black this time instead of silver (i've always had silver cars), and thus i requested pics of black c63's so i can see how it looks. thanks for your input though buddy!

What difference is there between the two blacks, the opal and the obsidian, since you have both, is one more black than the other, or is there an actual shade difference, which one seems deeper, I had put a deposit on a 2008 palladium, but I think I am going to wait a few more months as the 2009 models will soon begin production and it will be black for sure, just not sure which one of the blacks, I would like some more opinions as I am going in on thursday to complete the transaction, thanks.

here we go again with people bringing up track nonsense.....what percentage of your driving in the M3 involves a track??? Id say my SL55 track percentage is um ....0% I'm not taking a car with $1800/set tires to the track to have a joy ride and I really can't imagine many people doing the same. I have a good friend with a gallardo he laughed at me when I told him we should take our cars to the track

Unfortunately I can only afford the C220. I looked at the black and thought that it didn't show up the creases and lines as prominently as lighter colours. But in the C63, with the bonnet bulges and body kit, I think black is fantastic. Although I haven't seen flat black, I would go for the Obsidian - I think it shows up curves and lines better.
Good luck. A C63 is such a legendary car, it doesn't matter if you get it in brown.... it still looks great!
