Why dont MB put decent size tires?

The rear offset is too aggressive with OEM wheels. I do use 265s in the rear. But, at the track under heavy load they rub against the inside well. I seem to be the only one having this problem. The mechanic told me that the rear tire is flexing inwards during heavy load corner exits and rubbing. He had to do some hammer modification to inside wheel well cover. I have some 19 X9.5 inch wheels with 43 offset in the rear that do not rub with 265s (on a stock suspension set up). Got coilovers, therefore will be selling them.

Cost and Sales!
If MB put those tires on every C63
1- the car would cost more
2- The cost of replacing those tires would turn off many purchases
3- Ride quality would suffer, its still a 4 door car that guys put baby seats in.
4- Complaining wifes
5- Not all roads are created equal, we can only dream of freashly payed roads everywhere.
