Renntech isnt good for c63 but mkb is!

Basically i called renntech offices in florida (from montreal canada; a pretty penny)...they made me speek with a guy Georges at renntech who said that the 3500$ flash gives 27 hp more for a total of 478 hp...they said that they improves drivability but that they cant get more power out of the C63 because its bottlenecked in the exhaust (which i think is bull**** talk)...he asked if i wanted to fill an order and i said that ill check my options...
So is the stock c63's limited to be tuned to 478hp or is that renntech does not whant to give c63 drivers the same power as a cl63?
VRP Valdim; youre on a mission!

oh and i almost forgot...i emailed mkb and they said that their packages (8500$ mkb 63/8 567ps kit short headers +ecu) gives the same performance for all 63amg's 567ps and that the package gives 110 horsepower to a stock c63 for a total of 567!

Whos the bull****ter here?

$3500 for a EMC flash, thats CRAZY!! Please put the pipe down! What are the guys at Renntech doing, building CPU's by hand from scratch?

I would think $1000.00 to say $1500.00 MAX!!

How long ago was this?

I heard, through the grapevine, that over the weekend they did just an ECU flash to a c63 and got over 40whp.

If MKB is using headers and an ECU flash, maybe they are on to something that Renntech isn't willing to do?

Renntech and mkb are two companies founded by ex amg directors...and they sell exact same products...mkb operates europe; renntech operates america...thats all... the headers of mkb are the same as renntech offers; and they charge the same 5000$ short headers 3500$ ecu...

You guys think that is crazy? This is nothing! Renntech charges $6,000 for ecu reflash on V12 bi-turbo cars (600's and 65's)!!!

RENNtech tends to under estimate power claims. If some see 40 hp thats great and they should be happy. I am sure 27 is a low figure and you could see more. Im sure the exhaust on the car is not as free flowing as the larger cars so I doubt they are full oh monkey spunk.

You pay for skill. I think I trust renntech over other tuners. But that is just me.

Either way I need to get a C63 one day!

NE1 else agree with newbie or know this to be true? Renntech has been in the US before mid 1990's. MKB does not offer a supercharger and Renntech no longer has body kits as MKB does.

I just doubble checked, and like I thought I heard, Renntech had a 48rwhp increase with just an ECU flash on the C63. That's without headers. I believe it was the first C63 tuned by Renntech.

Maybe the OP talked with them a while back and they were being conservative with #'s because they hadn't actually done a C63 yet?

Sounds like good news for C63 owners and tuners.

well, something is strange... the exhaust of C63 is easy the most "FREE" of 63's.

how it cant at minimum, with ECU, the same power of S63(522hp aprox)??

there is no logical.

they probably dont wanna see US beating E,CLS,S,CL 63's !!!

personally I think that your "logical" is flawed.

wouldnt you think that tuner's wouldnt care whether it makes more hp than an e or an sl? either way they still make money. if anyone wouldnt want the C beating the other amg's, it would be the higher end amg owners. if anything the fact that the C is competitive might even push other amg model owners to get tuning to keep up.

Any AMG Thats Around..
all i can say is that R&D has to be put somewhere.... RennTech bought a C63 to use... where other vendors are looking to borrow a car.... thats where your dollars are going.... i know George, ive been there before... They would rather give you low numbers then give you high maybe unreasonable ones.... They are also very cautious with how much power they unleash, if they can get 100hp out of a ECU on a E55, but only feel that 61hp is safe to the engine internals... then thats all they are going to give you... They warranty their work... i have seen them do wonders for a customer, on a warranty issue... When you raise your overhead and you guys know, like any other business... Its costs a certain dollar to do something that drives up your selling price.... Well just giving you my thoughts....

Price of business! If one consumer can be convinced to pay $3500 then they will know if people would be willing to spend that price.

Don't think so. Just got a mail from MKB saying their North America website will be up next week and they are starting business here.

Here's the mail:

Hello Andy,

Thank you for your inquiry in to MKB Tuning products. We are please to announce that MKB North America will be launching next week. We will be starting to build our network through out the USA, but until then we will be able to handle all needs. We are hoping to have our website up early next week.

I am currently out of the country, but I will follow up next week in a separate email with pricing for you. Feel free to drop me an email with any additional questions..

Best Regards,

Daniel Bird
President

Good software costs money, because good software is hard to make. Why is Photoshop more expensive than MS Paint? Because it is better.

Is MKB better than Renntech since they are more expensive? According to their claims yes.

Is Renntech expensive @ $3.500 of is it just a lot of money?

That depends on what you get for that money, and if a $1.000 does the same (with the same reliability).

It's too easy to downplay software value...
