What is the issue with the commercial? Seems professionally made. Are we having issues with "baby Benz?" Are you like 13 years old? don't buy it then... Chevy talks about their great vehicles all day long...

I got news for you man, it IS a "baby benz." If you don't like the idea of that, buy a S, SL or CL. They call it the entry level model for a reason.

I agree with the OP, stupid commercial. The only reason it looks professional is because they used all of MBUSA's footage. And the car may be the "baby" Benz, but that is really stupid and short sighted of Fletcher Jones to use that in advertising because MB has made it very clear that they are trying to break that impression and get away from that term for the car.

I still get a chill occasionally when watching that first clip.. Part of me wishes I would have waited a little longer and got the C63 instead of my C350.Originally Posted by kip

yeah, and I don't drive a Chevy either! "Baby Benz" sounds ridiculous, as if they are trying to approach the low-end middle class. Even if they are, they shouldn't advertise it as such. I dont consider the C63 to be in the same class as a regular C-Class; especially since its faster than any of the other 63 AMG's right now, so I don't want to be classed as driving a "BABY BENZ". Sounds like a ridiculous OC phrase.Originally Posted by jbondox

I'm getting the C63 to replace my 335i, and I'm getting an SL63 in 1 or 2 months, so I definitely dont want to be classed in the "BABY BENZ" market. Ridiculous and completely ignorant for Fletcher Jones to use that in the commercial.
They base on( baby benz chassic in DTM race) does that say anything? If you got the money buy whatever theF***** u want. who cares what others think

The first thing the guy says is that the "baby benz" is no longer a baby. You should be happy about that. Originally Posted by Fantasm

Buddy if you care so much for what people will be thinking of you, you might as well go live on some remote island by yourself.. or better yet, seek help from a psychiatrist! Get a grip.
Be careful about Fletcher Jones. I bought an E55 AMG from them and they changed out my illuminated door sills and put ones in that read "Fletcher Jones".

Watch out I hear Fletcher Jones puts on MB stickers on Dodge Neons and passes them off as a "C" class.

Baby Benz was a term that came about when Mercedes introduced the cute 190e (I still love the 16v). It carried over to the C-class and yes I don't like the term considering the C-class is a great car and clearly was a leap forward. Class warfare is total BS....
I don't think MB had anything to do with the nick, and it didn't help that rappers used the term in their rap songs.
When I was growing up we had both a 190e and a 450slc and the 190e was more fun to drive and had more cool stuff (granted the 450 SLC was 11 years older).
I still think the C43 is the best looking C-class ever made, of course the new one is cool as well.

...so I can can't _affectionately_ refer to my car (yet to arrive), "Baby AMG?" It is, if you think about it. In many respects it is son/dau of CLK63 BS.

That is just hilarious. I would take it back, immediately. I will never even buy a car with so much as a dealer emblem or sticker on the car, and I remove the license plate cover immediately.Originally Posted by GBlansten
