Question about transmission in manual mode

My questions would only apply to manual trans mode I guess.

In manual mode can you start from a standing start in any gear other than 1st?

If you slow down from speed to a stop and you are in say, 5th gear will the trans down shift anyway if you do not down shift before you stop?

If you run out any gear to red line the engine will bounce off the rev limiter until you shift correct?

From a rolling start (any speed I guess) if you floor it will the trans kick down to a lower gear?

My questions are to determine if the trans works like a manual valve body trans. If anyone has had a street rod, or drag racer you may know what I am talking about.

I am guessing experience with a manual valve body is limited?

In Comfort mode, the transmission will always start in 2nd gear. In manual mode, you can't start in 2nd gear.

Yes, the software will select the lowest possible gear for max power.

That is not entirely correct.

If you are in "M" (manual) mode, the transmission will NOT downshift even if you floor the throttle to the kick down position. If you are in S or C mode, it will kick down.

MB Forever - are you describing your experience with the transmission in your E63? If so, understandable, but I believe (not certain) that they are programmed differently?

OK, ALL my questions are from the perspective of being in Manual Mode, no other for a C63 model no other. All my questions still stand but from the perspective of the above. Valkyrie, feel free to chime in on my original questions.
