This may have been answered several times before however I have to ask since this is my first MB AMG.
How and when does the Navigation package get upgraded.
Does MB send out information regarding available updates to the maps?
How much do they charge? How is it done? and how often?

 

According to my sales persons assistant, you get them at each service interval.

 

I've been told it is now updated via TeleAid if you have it.

 

The Navigation system can be updated via a DVD. Your service advisor can give you pricing. They also can update via a computer to get you the latest calibrations and other crap. Cost will vary from dealer to dealer.

TeleAid will allow you to email the directions to your car via Google or Yahoo.

 

Another question..

Is there a way to enter the name of the POI while also making it show the closest one? It seems you either pick 'current position' and have to search POIs (can't enter name) or search by name and it'll show you all matches across the country, which is not helpful at all.

 

Also, I swear I saw a feature where it showed estimated time of arrival to destination based on your speed.

I saw this once when I programmed a new destination and I could not show it again.

Am I imagining stuff?
