09 Canadian Build Dates
Has anyone in Canada received a confirmed build date for an '09? I put down my deposit on an 09 with the Performance Package on June 26th, and while I was told I was number 2 on the list at this dealer, I've yet to hear confirmation of a build date.

I placed it in May, I am second on the list of only three in NS. I did get confirmation till July 10th. I suspect you will here soon.

I got conformation that my car is in A0 or something... Order received but not yet started production. Placed my deposit and order back in May. I have the only allocation for an 09' Coming into Winnipeg, MB.
I was told it will be a Mid Aug build date from my dealer.

Ok, I'm starting to get p!$$&d.
I place an order with the Toronto dealer in June and still haven't heard confirmation of a build date. I really want the car, but ...
Has anyone received a build date on orders since June?

I originally ordered mine in June, was told I would have to wait until Feb 09 build date. As of two weeks ago, my dealer called and offered me a build of Sept 08, so I grabbed it.

Thats just plain wrong and misinformation....
February is when the next "Build Date" available (P30 or not) is if you place an order with deposit today. P30's are already arriving in Canada and more are arriving all the time. Mine is being bult in the next 2 weeks (Sept 10) with P30.

Hey all I can do is repeat what I was told. Any PP cars previously ordered (like mine in June) with October or November build dates have been moved to at least February.

Hey North 44, no big deal, while your response didn't bring me joy, I do understand the frustration when confronted with this type of info.
I think I'm dropping the PP option - I can't wait for a February+ delivery - the M3 goes back in Sept and I can't drive the 911 in the winter. I will miss the LSD through.

Dealer is looking into the same thing (dropping P30) with dealer add LSD and steering wheel after delivery (he owes me one). Brakes I can get from VRP or EVO later. Suspension not a big concern......it is a daily driver after all. Lets see what tomorrow brings

Let me know more about the dealer add LSD when you get the details - I spoke with a service manager earlier this week and he told me it was $4-$5k for parts (Quaife is only $1,500) plus 4 hours labour and would void the warranty - which doesn't make sense if you use MB parts!

Just spoke with my dealer . Nix on the LSD as a dealer add. Quaife at $1500 + $350 install is a better route.
That said the dealer believes that since my order is in pre-production set up/confirmation that the build with P30 intact is a go. They say that build dates after Oct 1st are being pushed back to Jan/ Feb.
Will know for sure on Tuesday morning.

What a weird 24 hours
What a weird 24 hours - gone from pi$$ed to pleased!
Got a call late Thursday from my sales rep that the dealership just took possession of an MB exec driven black/black fully loaded 2008 C63 with 3,800km. Had to sell it before the end of the month.
Inspected/test drove it this morning, negotiated a deal, picking it up tomorrow. Can't express how much I loved the handling, puts my M3 to shame. Not quite R8 handling, but significantly firmer and more fluid than I ever expected from MB.
I got a reasonable discount for a slightly used car, residual the same as a 2009 model, but the real bonus is no freight, PDI nor gas guzzler tax - that's $3,800 up front savings!

Just got home and there is a message from my dealer. Good to go with full P30 build. Bumped to second decade September build.
Good to be back on track......
