Nice post Mark.. !! Your car looks cracking. I wasn't sure about the Sahara interior but it looks great.
What's the deal with the wing mirrors on that white one ? Is that MY09 or ??
Why did yours come without ?
I am soooo looking forward to my trip now.. I'm hoping Stelvio pass is still open, because I'm going to take a (very long) detour there if I can.
I'm hoping I don't have the purge valve issues that so many on here have reported.

Remember you only have 5 days in which to collect your car and bring it back to the UK, the isurance wont cover for any more. As a side note when I got back and cleaned the car we noticed a stone chip on the bonnet, and some scuff marks (maybe where people have been leaning against it when parked) this is currently being dealt with through the insurance (excess free) and top marks for MB for dealing with it immediatley.....
Now on 900 miles and no issues at all....
One last thing, if you organise your trip through MB collections you will have a GREAT time, enjoy!!!!
Other Q's...
Miles on speedo = UK car. Rest of Europe = Km/PH
Nearly all the cars we looked at at the AMG factory including the C63's were having enhanced detailing,
GMW....well spotted, yes this one did have all the dashboard covered in hand stiched leather, a bit ott for me but for some of these cars money was no object.
As for the ride I did not have the Performance Package I just opted for the 19" wheels and the L.S.D. as a standalone option. The ride is still very very comfortable, even on UK roads, lets face it, it's a sports car after all so it wont be the smoothest, but as I wrote earlier even Mrs Supercover fell asleep several times on our way back, the seats hold/cossett you very well so you dont tend to roll about and that makes it more comfy....
TBH, i test drove the car on 18's and can't say I really noticed a difference exept the 19's look stunning.
Anyway more pics as requested.....

Leather interior dashboard of C63 (Don't ask about steering wheel as I don't know why its like this....)
CLK DTM as requested.....
This is a HEAVILY armoured G55, it's difficult to see but the front windsreen was 3" thick,
....and the passenger door, notice the inner door lining, this is sheilded with armour plating too, apparently if you are a target for a shooter they aim for the shut lines on the doors as this is the weakest part.....I had to use both hands and some considerable effort to shut this door it was that heavy.., the car weighed in at about 4.5 tonnes....
This is a C63 being prepared for demonstration racing, carbon fibre look....
Again not allowed to take pics of the front as it shows extra cooling for brakes etc.....a bit secret!
even the rear passengers get bucket seats.....

2009 Fully loaded C63 AMG - black on black and CF trim; 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD;
dats really really a one-in-a-thousand chance to have this kind of tour when you pick up ur car, I envy u lol, enjor ur ride!!
