C63 or Z06
Local Chevy dealer just emailed me (I am on his list) with a new '08 Z06, LT2 package, NAV, for 68k. I have my C63 on order and will arrive in 2 weeks. What would you guys do?

If you like to race (whether street or track), Z06 is the hands-down winner. The C63 is obviously the better choice if you want to drive more people around.
Personally, I would take the Z06 just because it's a badass American V8. No gas guzzler tax for a car of supercar abilities too

2009 C63 AMG
I've had both!
I had a red 2007 1LZ ZO6 last year. I sold it and bought the C63.
The only thing the ZO6 has going for it is top speed and slightly better handling.
I am getting my C63 modded (ECU tune, headers, pulleys, filters) and I am going to have 570 flywheel horsepower. The cost of my C63 plus those mods will equal the price I paid for my ZO6. YET, the C63 rides nicer, holds 5 people, has WAY better fit and finish, better interior, no rattles, and is more rare (you see Vettes all the time). While it will depreciate, the MB will probably depreciate less than the ZO6.
My $0.02c.

I love the C6 Z06 and want to buy one as a track car when prices fall a little more, but the C63 just feels SPECIAL. Something the Vette lacks.

If you don't need the extra 2 seats, then I would get the Z06. The Z06 is in a completely different league. Just for example, the performance specs of a C63 are about the same as the base model corvette.

How often are you really planning to use all that power on the Z06 or is it just about bragging rights? A C63 will be much better for everyday life and doing normal stuff that isn't done on the racetrack. Gonna be on the racetrack alot, are you?

The exclusivity is something I like, and I know there are plenty of Vette's, but not many Z06's in my opinion. I have a C55 for 2 more weeks (lease ends) and I have loved every minute of it. A cheap interior would turn me off, so performance is not the only factor I'm looking at. My price point is 70k, and I want the best driving experience from a performance and handling perspective as I can get, while at the same time enjoying a solidly built car with a nice interior, and room for a pair of golf bags (this removes the Elise from my list of options). The car will be driven on dry roads only, and the transmissions of both cars are equally acceptable. I have removed the M3 from my decision tree also because I prefer the MB to the BMW for that style of car (for various reasons). The Cayman S is over 70k the way I would want it. I am leaning towards taking the C63 because I can have it for 64k, loaded (minus 1/2 of PP, and no CF). Kleeman is 45 min. from my house and I can have the ECU upgrade for $1450. But a Z06 for 68k....pretty tempting!

Forget them both....get a 65 or CLS55
With a wide range of supersedans dropping in value weekly I would opt for a CLS55-63 (the looks simply blow away a C63) or a S65 or CL65 ....these cars can be bought a lot less then a C63 ...they are a lot less common and incredibly desirable for performance and comfort....the C63 is yet a C class with the 63 in it....plain and simple....they are already loading up on ebay and hitting the auctions in the high $50's...... as for the ZO6 well..... you can get a nice 08 used loaded for the mid $50's to high $50's ....already seeing 08's hit auctions for low $50's.........oh and the S65 ...well it will hang with a zo6 on a renntech all day long...it will cost you less if you look hard and you can take up to 5 passengers with you.....

03 g35 coupe...........02 c32 Sold
track = z06
daily driver = c63
I would prefer the c63 in my opinion. THe z06 has great performance but the interior still feels like a cobalt rental car.

white and whiter
IMO
ZO6 = supercar. granted not the best interior for the money.
C63 = fast sedan if you want to go fast and haul people.

As slow as most people drive a person doesn't need much to pass them in everyday traffic. I guess it depends if you want to pass and put 5 car lengths or 3 in the same time frame.

cash in your 401k and just buy both
my father is a vette guy- he's had at least one about as long as i can remember. i, on the other hand, am a mercedes guy. however- i would go with the z06 in a heartbeat- assuming it's not a automatic. it is simply an amazing car.

It sounds as you made up your mind.
I looked at a z06 when I decide this, but I have two children and wanted them to enjoy my car as well....I get a company car every two years.
I wil be able to buy this from my company for 15k after 2 years (the joy of small business ownership) so I will keep this and buy a Z06 too then.

I change my cars every 3 years or so...I lease everytime, it works well for me. I know that's not everyone's cup of tea. So I went to see the Z06 today. Very nice looking indeed! But the interior fit and finish is not good, compared to the Benz. A lot of plastic that can be moved under moderate pressure. It also looks like some pedal modifications will need to be done as it was difficult to get a good heel/toe action going (the Z06 may have mechanical adjustments on the brake pedal). Visibility out the rear is not great, but manageable. I'm definitely leaning toward the C63 strongly now, despite the 10k discount on the Z06. I just never thought these cars would be available at these prices! Maybe if my C63 wasn't arriving in 2 weeks, and I hadn't got so amped up to get it in the first place....

I say get the C63....I don't think you really want a Vette. Most people who are willing to pony up the extra cash for a ZO6 over the base model don't even test drive it let alone compare it with other cars.
Get the Benzo man! It's in the blood....or not.

If you are leasing... both of these cars will totally suck as far as the rate and residual. So there's that to consider first.
The C63 will eventually have better lease terms - but the Z06 never.
Second, ther performance in daily use is not something you will feel. I was street toying with my best friend who drives a modded viper. He couldn't shake me on the street while keeping it under the "arrest that guy now and throw away the jail" speeds so speed is all relative.
Finally, if you are looking at leasing, and around $70k - go grab yourself a 6 series, a 911 or an M5 (which you can get for around 80-90, but the lease makes it seem like a $60k car). I'd take any of those over a vette any day.
