I could be wrong. It wouldn't bother me if i am but I read in several places over the past year or so that the suspensions were similar.
Here is a source:
"But that is only the beginning. AMG re-engineered the front chassis with entirely new suspension and steering geometry, basically comes from CLK63 Black."

"It comes with AMG sport suspension and Merc borrowed the front axle, which is of a three-link design with stiff springs and gas-filled shocks, from the CLK63 Black Series."
http://www.wheels24.co.za/Wheels24/N...185099,00.html
"As a hint to the car’s sporting prowess, the front architecture is lifted from the CLK63 AMG – which features in the Mercedes-Benz Formula One safety car."

It wouldn't surprise me if some of you have a solid engineering background and have a deep understanding of car chassis and suspension builds. If you know this is incorrect that's fine with me.

Well from your last statement obviously you know, but in anycase you can't really compare the C63 and E63. I have an E55 as well and I'm assuming it is fairly similar to the E63, but the C63 is by far more involving than the E. From transmission, sound, to handling. I doubt many C63 owners bought one because they couldn't step up to the E; rather I think for a C63 owner the CLK Black would be the next step up.
But that's why, IMO, the C63 is a great value. You get virtually the same 6.2l engine as the Black, same seats, front suspension components minus the adjustable shocks, and blipping feature which the Black doesn't have. Not to mention, it shares a soundtrack much closer to the BS then the E. Basically, while the C63 is no BS, it shares much more in common to it than the E.
I love my E55 btw.
