I remember voting for one of the top 5 or 3 names (don't remember now) that Boeing had listed to choose from for the aircraft.

I have flown the Boeing 777-200ER in the past with my uncle as the Captain and enjoyed every moment of it so I can only imagine how exciting and wonderful it will be to fly the 787.

Are you talking about www.newairplane.com?

They just told us that no more installation plans (IP's) are needed, possibly due to the machinists' strike. Now it's back to our maintenance manual project...

39yr old here in Hong Kong, an hedge fund trader. We pay double of what you guys pay for cars. I paid USD150k for a C63, USD200k for S350L, USD120k for Cayenne. Not trust fund kid, not a drug dealer, dont drink, dont smoke. Why so many ppl think only spoiled kids can afford expensive cars?? You are not the only one has this in your mind...

I can understand how you & your brother feel. It was a bad day for everyone. I've been there at Ground Zero for over a year now working on the "Freedom Tower". I'm 42 yrs. old & a N.Y.C. union iron worker. Hope this makes you & your bro feel a lil better, but we are putting them back up...much better and stronger than before!

Same here, growing up in school I had a birds eye view of the WTC buildings being built... I could see the North tower going up a few floors then the south tower go up a few floors... it was kinda cool seeing all that construction going on while going into the 4th 5th 6th grades. And all those great memory's of the skyline, Mostly home grown NY'er's wil always feel the pain and a reminder of this great monumental loss of life.

I would almost Guarantee you all that the way this happened, it will Not, shall Not, happen again!!! I do alot of flying and I'm almost positive that if someone dares to try to take over a passenger airline, people like myself will react very swiftly and decisively Angry would be a mild word to be blunt!

Do you have any pics of your car? I want to see what a CB looks like. This and the metalic red would be my choice.

Well I am more of a 2 wings kinda guy, something about an engine failure on a helli......kinda scares me lol. Also I don't remember it coming up as an issue when my father wanted to take some flying lessons but that was a year or so back. I will have to check and make sure that FAA rule is actually in effect but if you can point it out to me then that would save me some time haha

in a helicopter you can autorotate. you can almost always land a helicopter with a single or dual engine failure with power applied to keep the rotors turning. however, losing a blade is like losing a wing... you're f'ed.

And how scary is autorotating a helicopter? Do you practice that?

I read in the school manual, theres a test that they stall the heli up there and you have to re-start it again, how scary is that!!!

Yes, it is practiced regularly. The more you practice the less scary it should be... theoretically, but surely it is a lot more scary during a real emergency. I have been lucky enough to never experience an engine failure, and even if I did I still have another. It is definitely not the most scary emergency that could happen in a dual engine aircraft. A little more so for a single engine.

A test? For sure nothing that I have ever done in any training. It's actually unauthorized except in case of an emergency if one goes out and only if you have enough altitude to pull it off before hitting the ground.

I know that fixed wing pilots have to stall the airplane and recover normal flight sometimes as a normal training maneuver (not sure if that applies to jets)... but that doesn't involve shutting the engine off.

Relntls... I need to learn that quality! I'm one of the majority that has a bad habit of slacking when I can. "Hard work pays off in the future, lazyness pays off now" Ha ha.. Sounds like a busy job! I am very excited to start my new career in healthcare!

See Airplanes unlike Hellis are more safe because we can glide down w/o an engine. If you lose your roaters, your pretty much done for....lol

And yes, we do "Power On" & "Power Off" stalls in the airplane. The first couple times I did it was in a Cessna 172 and it scared me for a bit but then it got easy after practicing. I am actually not even scared about losing an engine. My Instructor used to simulate engine failures all the time and sometimes just pull the throttle out completely on downwind before landing. Best thing is not to panick or else all hell brakes lose.
