DTM C63
Hi guys, have you ever thought about finding the DTM version body kits for your C63? I wonder where you can find those because my C63 is coming in and I would love to make it look like the DTM version!

Wan888 I WAN one!!! where did you get it and how come no lacquer coat?
I would still even like a toned down version of the DTM wing. I like wings
(my garage has had a 911 993 TT wing (BIG wing), and 996 GT3 wing (Really BIG wing) and lastly my 997 GT3 (really really BIG wing!)
I think a really nicely styled DTM that was toned down would be perfect.
I mean this car will SEE 160 mph and up, I want the wing to be functional.
that lil' lip doenst inspire my confidence in the rear staying planted at those speeds.

How Big Is Enough?
What kind of size are we talking to keep the rear end planted at top end? BTW, what happens without the spoiler at those speeds?

Lomita I am guessing the small size of the OEM spoiler is enough to keep it planted. But I have gone out on several runs in both GT3s and the 911 Turbo at those speeds. I dont know what size with out some math help
BUT the bigger the wing the lower top speeds you will see because of the aero drag. But you'll get a light rear end feeling without proper downforce on the back. Its kind of a catch 22. The better the wing the better the downforce BUT the greater the drag. You actually want less wing for high speed runs but as SMALL as we have? I dont know. You want a bigger wing on slower tracks to help push down the rear in higher speed corners.
The other question is aero balance. The car was designed with aero in front with the lip spoiler being balanced with the down force on the back with the rear wing. You can increase front lift with too much rear down force in the back. So we need to be careful. The DTM rear wing probably needs to be balanced with a more aggressive front lip.
Once with my first GT3 I ripped off the front spoiler at Buttonwillow on the curbs around one of the corners. the next time I went down the back stretch without the busstop to slow down that stretch I got up pretty fast 140+ and I got all kinds of front lift and the car was REALLY twitchy, so I went in and got my old spoiler out of my trailer and didnt go out till the next session.
Didnt like that feeling AT all. Pucker factor went up an order of magnitude.

Got it done from my cousin's company .. he's also doing a more agressive rear diffuser with undertray that leads to the final drive ... sounds interesting to me .... but need to wait for another month ... booo .... sigh.

Pucker Factor Exponential
When the pucker factor is ignored, murphy has a way of intervention, and usually at our expense.
I appreciate the discussion of aerodynamic drag. Induced drag increases with the square of the speed.........what we need is a varaible angle of attack spoiler, something to allow the speed to increase the downforce generated however, reduce the angle of attack to neutral at slower speeds for greater acceleration.
When is the next Buttonwillow event?
