i just got off the phone with a local dealership and the salesmen told me a 39 month lease with 15,000 miles a year would be around 1300 a month..that averaged up to be 50,700 as the total cost for a lease am i not seeing something right or would it be completely rediculous to lease a 65,000 dollar car for 50,000 dollars??!!

You should be able to get that 39 month lease in the 1000 range... use leasecompare.com if you are not familar with leasing.
