I didn't even know we had a topic!

But..."Launch control never used...", famous last words, surely.

Oh, yeah, I was headed up towards Cypress at the time. Were you headed in the same direction?

Yeah, that was XRX in the Boxster and Asahi in the C63. We went for a drive before dinner. I hadn't been up to Cypress Bowl for such a long time. It had always been a great road and apparently still is.

Depending on traffic conditions, between 10 to 15 minutes. It's a beautiful road, with long sweeping corners, and amazing scenery to boot. You'll like it.

I'm sure there'll be some kind of a meet or get-together when you're here, and you'd be more than welcome to come along for that.

Is El Nino affecting you guys up there? This is the coldest and wettest winter/spring I have ever experienced in Vegas. I hope it warms up a little when I am up there and Alaska later in May.

Do you have clear bra film on? the whole car? if you do, would u recommend to have this done? and I heard no matter how good the film is, it will still turn alittle yellow after a period of time, is it true? does the film make the car more light reflective?or shiny? looks like it.

I have the 3m pre-cut kit on 1/4 of the front portion of the hood/fenders and the entire bumper, and it leaves about 1" of a gap around the edge of the panels (you can kinda see the lines in the picture)

Currently, theres no yellowing on the film yet but I'v only had the kit on for 2 months,so I can't vouch for that. However I'v been told (by the installer) that the newer 3M kit is a lot better than the ones the offered years ago in terms of quality (less yellowing and orange peeling). One thing though, my clear bra is showing some kind of "white lines" in a few area. The lines look like lines of air bubble, and the installer explained that this is caused by the stretching of the kit during the installation process, and will be more visible on darker cars (especially black cars) than on lighter cars. This, and having a not-that-visible cut off line in the middle of the hood are the only things that bothered me after the installation. And if you're not looking for the line, you can barely see it.

As for if I recommend it or not, it depends on how do u use your car for. I do around 400km of highway driving almost every other week, and I believe having a clear bra on is a must to prevent the car from getting rock chips/bug stains. If I were to choose again though I would probably find another shop which does a full hood installation for aesthetic reasons.

Thank you for your reply, Im still deciding if im going ahead, due to the fact that I dont often drive long distance, however if i do get clear bra most likely i will do the full front section of the car (racing kit)

Do you feel the paint losses its shine or better or same with the film on?
