Just got back. The Vernon-to-Vancouver leg is a 5 hour 15 minute drive. Somehow, I did it in 4 hours.

No, it was more a combination of good weather, little traffic, and otherwise preoccupied police. My average speed on the return leg, according to my trip computer, was 120 km/h.
