R8Lai,

it's own by my cousin and it's kinda like a barter trade ... they do my cars at very good price and i in return help them market it .......

i'm sure if they sponsor you with some parts you'll help promote with no regret right?

it's only just a fair trade.

Personally, I don't see why the M3 convertible should cost that much. I understand the import tax and all that in HK, but the car just isn't worth that much.

So why not ... and I know it might look a fool, that's why you see NO M3 badge whatsoever on the car.
Can I be your gf?

From Shanghai too Ah, good ol' stereotypes..

wan888, those rides are SICK. 3 cars in HK = baller.

And for those who aren't familiar with HK pricing, cars have this 100% tax on top of the vehicle. Has that changed?

USD $244,000 for a M3 at my place

USD $800,000 for a 599 , but still they are plenty of Ferraris and lamborghinis here.

A subaru STI or mitsu Evo cost USD$86K, they are even more 'everywhere'.

Hey wan, which part of HK do you stay? Stayed at some Tungpow Wan (or spelling similar!) place a few years ago. The scenery there is nice... and there are some temples at the bottom I think.

Too long to remember clearly Can't speak cantonese (?) too

That's a good one, I'd try to convince my fiance on that.

Lack of badge = Bolex watch without a logo on it. At the end of the day, most people recognize the shape/design/features and don't bother looking for a logo. More to the point, in a car, they figure you debadged your "m3" and think it looks "clean" because Bangle designed the trunk so poorly the badges don't fit right to begin with.

I find this kind of sad in a way.

Buying a ring at Tiffany's or Cartier or whatever in Hong Kong doesn't incur a 100% import tax. I'm sure these boys can afford plenty of goodies besides their European cars.

I think you mean Causeway Bay, which in Cantonese is spoken as "tung law wan".

True, but they gotta make money off taxes somehow.

In Korea, a new Lexus LS460 saloon costs $180,000 USD.

People complain about how expensive cars are here, but in Asia, it's usually double to triple the price due to taxes.

Oh, I totally understand, I lived in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Shanghai for a combined 18 years of my working life. My comment was more a reflection of the ultimate desirability of the M3 given that it's pretty played out in almost any market where BMWs are sold. It's just so common! Hahaha...
