Dunlop Direzza Star spec

Has anyone tried the new Dunlop Direzza star spec on their C63? They have been getting some great reviews and I'm hoping they might be a better solution than the OE Pzero. My stock Pirelli's are already wearing out in the middle of the rears after only 2700 miles and I need to try something different. Based on other posts I'm going to go with 245/40/18 fronts and 275/35/18 rears to hopefully cope with the torque a little better.

Just ordered some replacement Pzero for my rear tires today. Fronts are too good to trash. I'm really torn over what to get next. I looked at the reviews on the Direzzas on Tirerack and they look promising but I doubt they'll last any longer than the Pzeros. I might be wrong.

I want something that lasts a little longer for my next set of four. I might drop down to the UHP category instead of the Max HP.

I'd like to some some real world experience on the Direzzas for our car as well.

Yeah, my fronts are still in good shape, but if I'm only going to get 2700 miles per set of rears I'll go through 3 sets per fronts and that seems crazy. I've never had a set of tires wear out this fast and I've run PS2s Eagle F1s, Toyo T1Rs, etc on other high performance cars. I'm used to 10 - 12 K miles per set, but not 3K.

I'm with you. My tires are at the wear indicators pretty evenly across both rears. I don't drive with ESP off and while I'll get on the gas I'm only driving in the city with almost all miles just a work commute. I have never done a burnout. I do drive in Sport though. Unbelievable.

When I got the car I was well aware of the torque and figured the rears would go fast but I was counting on around 10K. LOL at 4K.

I just hit 5000 miles and the rears are being replaced tomorrow afternoon. What was left of the tread I burned off at the track Friday night in a hopeless attempt to launch the car with less than a .5 sec R/T due to wheel spin. I have heard the arguement of not mismatching tires but buying more PZeros with a 220 treadwear rating is insane especially at close to $300 each. I am mounting Nexen D3000 275/35 for $145 each, mounted balanced inc tax which have a 340 treadware. I had these on my BMW which I knew I was going to sell when the C63 got close. After nearly six months, I was actually pleased with what I thought was going to be a disposable tire.
