You'll spin in C if you push your foot down hard enough, but you'll figure out the cars limits very quickly...just leave the ESP and floor it, and see what happens-and don't worry, ESP won't even let you do anything stupid! Btw on a separate note.. this is what you should do to your interior IMHO...

M3 to C63 shouldn't be that bad. I went from 189 hp 4 spd and 4 wheel drive to 451 hp and rear wheel drive and that took some getting used to. To me, I feel like I only have to move my right foot a couple of degrees and I'm gone. The first time I pulled out on the a highway, there was a little bit of fish tailing, but never since. Getting used to moving the gas pedal 2 degrees as opposed to 45 degrees is new, but welcomed. But the C63 is not hard to drive at all.
As for you cornering, coming from an M3 I don't think you will find much difference on the street. You may notice a difference at the track. Where you may not be able to hit an apple on the apex of any turn on the first try. ;-)

I traded my E46 M3 Convertible for an 09 C63 in October and there is just no comparison. I loved my M3 and will miss the ragtop, but love the C63 even more. The M3 stuck to the road like glue but didn't have the torque that the C63 puts out, so it took a little getting used to in the corners. Straight line, it is the most fun I have had in a car since my first girlfriend! Both were daily drivers and I look forward to getting up in the morning to make my commute into the office! You'll need to take it easy the first 1000 miles anyway, so that will give you time to get used to the differences. :-)

But wouldn't smoother (rather than sudden) acceleration help exorcise much of that unwanted wheelspin? Isn't a deft right foot all that's needed, in reality?
I understand that we have a lot of torque in this car, and that it's probably under-spec'ed in terms of tire width. But I'm sure pretty much all of us are good enough drivers that we can modulate the throttle better, in order to stem much of that wheelspin when it's not called for. I love the fact that I can lay down two long strips of rubber on the tarmac IF I wanted to. But I love even more the fact that I can choose to be moderate, and still derive a lot of driving pleasure from this car.
Remember, power without control is nothing.
Besides, the environment, and your pocketbook, will love you for it.

There is nothing difficult about handling this car, straight line or turns, unless you are being "difficult" yourself. It is remarkably balanced if you are smooth with it. If you want to over-drive it and get sideways, I suppose you have that option too.

Congrats on making the switch! I fell off an E90 M3 list for the C63. Today an E90 M3 zoomed up behind me, outta nowhere, in a freeway exit lane. He had to have been surprised when I left him behind on the circular offramp. The best mod is still the driver!

All kidding aside, could my wife drive this car (she's used to a 335Ci) easily? If she just left it in "Comfort" mode...
I don't want to buy anything that might be dangerous for her to drive.

My wife did not have any problems when she test drove it. Her DD is a C320. Just don't turn off all of the safety controls and mash the throttle at a standstill in the rain/snow.
